Thanks to China, Christine Lagarde of the International Monetary Fund, Jim Yong Kim of the World Bank and Takehiko Nakao of the Asian Development Bank may no longer have much meaningful work to do.

Beijing’s move to bail out Russia, on top of its recent aid for Venezuela and Argentina, signals the death of the post-war Bretton Woods world. It’s also marks the beginning of the end for America’s linchpin role in the global economy and Japan’s influence in Asia.

Stem Cells Could Extend Human Life By Over 200 Years

At the Institute for Regenerative Medicine in Pittsburgh, fast-aging elderly mice with a usual lifespan of approximately 21 days were injected with stem cells from younger mice. They were given the injection approximately four days before they were expected to die, and the results were outstanding. Mice who were injected not only lived, but they live 3 times their normal lifespan, surviving for an additional 71 days. In human terms, that would be the equivalent of an 80-year old living to be 200 years old.

The research was published in Nature Communications, by Mitra Lavasani in 2012. The mice were genetically engineered to be fast-aging.

“Specifically, the investigators studied the effects of injecting muscle-derived stem/progenitor cells (MDSPCs) into a murine progeria model (fast-aging mice). Since age-related degenerative changes are universal in the musculoskeletal system, the impact on the musculoskeletal system by murine muscle-derived stem/progenitor cells (MDSPCs) became the primary focus of the experiments. MDSPCs are multipotent cells isolated from postnatal skeletal muscle. They have the capacity for long-term proliferation, are resistant to oxidative and inflammatory stress, show multilineage differentiation and self-renew, induce neovascularization, and stimulate regeneration of bone, skeletal, and cardiac muscles. These characteristics raise the possibility that the loss of MDSPCs or related perivascular progenitor cells could contribute to sarcopenia, osteoporosis and other age-associated degenerative diseases.”

This is a significant finding, it could not only extend the life of humans but also be able to delay symptoms that are correlated with aging.

Ido Bachelet announces 2015 human trial of DNA nanobots to fight cancer and soon to repair spinal cords

Posted in Diseases, Drugs, Health, Medicine, Science, Technology on December 29, 2014 by betweentwopines

At the British Friends of Bar-Ilan University’s event in Otto Uomo October 2014 Professor Ido Bachelet announced the beginning of the human treatment with nanomedicine. He indicates DNA nanobots can currently identify cells in humans with 12 different types of cancer tumors.

A human patient with late stage leukemia will be given DNA nanobot treatment. Without the DNA nanobot treatment the patient would be expected to die in the summer of 2015. Based upon animal trials they expect to remove the cancer within one month.

Within 1 or 2 years they hope to have spinal cord repair working in animals and then shortly thereafter in humans. This is working in tissue cultures.

Previously Ido Bachelet and Shawn Douglas have published work on DNA nanobots in the journal Nature and other respected science publications.

One Trillion 50 nanometer nanobots in a syringe will be injected into people to perform cellular surgery.

The DNA nanobots have been tuned to not cause an immune response.
They have been adjusted for different kinds of medical procedures. Procedures can be quick or ones that last many days.

Medicine or treatment released based upon molecular sensing – Only targeted cells are treated

Ido’s daughter has a leg disease which requires frequent surgery. He is hoping his DNA nanobots will make the type of surgery she needs relatively trivial – a simple injection at a doctor’s office.

We can control powerful drugs that were already developed

Effective drugs that were withdrawn from the market for excessive toxicity can be combined with DNA nanobots for effective delivery. The tiny molecular computers of the DNA nanobots can provide molecular selective control for powerful medicines that were already developed.

Using DNA origami and molecular programming, they are reality. These nanobots can seek and kill cancer cells, mimic social insect behaviors, carry out logical operators like a computer in a living animal, and they can be controlled from an Xbox. Ido Bachelet from the bio-design lab at Bar Ilan University explains this technology and how it will change medicine in the near future.

Ido Bachelet earned his Ph.D. from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and was a postdoctoral fellow at M.I.T. and Harvard University. He is currently an assistant professor in the Faculty of Life Sciences and the Nano-Center at Bar Ilan University, Israel, the founder of several biotech companies, and a composer of music for piano and molecules.

Researchers have injected various kinds of DNA nanobots into cockroaches. Because the nanobots are labelled with fluorescent markers, the researchers can follow them and analyse how different robot combinations affect where substances are delivered. The team says the accuracy of delivery and control of the nanobots is equivalent to a computer system.

This is the development of the vision of nanomedicine.
This is the realization of the power of DNA nanotechnology.
This is programmable dna nanotechnology.

The DNA nanotechnology cannot perform atomically precise chemistry (yet), but having control of the DNA combined with advanced synthetic biology and control of proteins and nanoparticles is clearly developing into very interesting capabilities.

“This is the first time that biological therapy has been able to match how a computer processor works,” says co-author Ido Bachelet of the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials at Bar Ilan University.

The team says it should be possible to scale up the computing power in the cockroach to that of an 8-bit computer, equivalent to a Commodore 64 or Atari 800 from the 1980s. Goni-Moreno agrees that this is feasible. “The mechanism seems easy to scale up so the complexity of the computations will soon become higher,” he says.

An obvious benefit of this technology would be cancer treatments, because these must be cell-specific and current treatments are not well-targeted. But a treatment like this in mammals must overcome the immune response triggered when a foreign object enters the body.

Bachelet is confident that the team can enhance the robots’ stability so that they can survive in mammals. “There is no reason why preliminary trials on humans can’t start within five years,” he says

Biological systems are collections of discrete molecular objects that move around and collide with each other. Cells carry out elaborate processes by precisely controlling these collisions, but developing artificial machines that can interface with and control such interactions remains a significant challenge. DNA is a natural substrate for computing and has been used to implement a diverse set of mathematical problems, logic circuits and robotics. The molecule also interfaces naturally with living systems, and different forms of DNA-based biocomputing have already been demonstrated. Here, we show that DNA origami can be used to fabricate nanoscale robots that are capable of dynamically interacting with each other in a living animal. The interactions generate logical outputs, which are relayed to switch molecular payloads on or off. As a proof of principle, we use the system to create architectures that emulate various logic gates (AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOT, CNOT and a half adder). Following an ex vivo prototyping phase, we successfully used the DNA origami robots in living cockroaches (Blaberus discoidalis) to control a molecule that targets their cells.

Ido Bachelet’s moonshot to use nanorobotics for surgery has the potential to change lives globally. But who is the man behind the moonshot?

Ido graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a PhD in pharmacology and experimental therapeutics. Afterwards he did two postdocs; one in engineering at MIT and one in synthetic biology in the lab of George Church at the Wyss Institute at Harvard.

Now, his group at Bar-Ilan University designs and studies diverse technologies inspired by nature.

They will deliver enzymes that break down cells via programmable nanoparticles.
Delivering insulin to tell cells to grow and regenerate tissue at the desired location.
Surgery would be performed by putting the programmable nanoparticles into saline and injecting them into the body to seek out remove bad cells and grow new cells and perform other medical work.

ISIS hacks U.S. news site: ‘We are already here’

“You’ll see no mercy, infidels. We are already here, we are in your PCs, in each house, in each office. With Allah’s permission we begin with Albuquerque.”

That was the ominous message posted by someone purporting to be affiliated with the Islamic State who apparently hacked the app of New Mexico’s largest newspaper, the Albuquerque Journal, and threatened Albuquerque residents on Wednesday morning.

The posting was accompanied by the headline, “Christmas will never be merry any longer” and a dark photo of a figure wearing a black-and-white checkered head scarf. Text in the middle of the photo read “CyberCaliphate” and “I love you isis” [sic].

The post also stated, “While the us [sic] and its satellites are bombing the Islamic State, we broke into your home networks and personal devices and know everything about you.”

The hacker told Albuquerque residents, “You will look around more often, will call up your children more often, think of your security more often, but that won’t help you.”

The website shut down for several hours while the posting was removed.

The Journal posted a note on its website confirming the attack. It also stated that the FBI has been notified and “there was no data breach.”

Information Systems Director Monty Midyette said the alterations appeared to be limited to just one story.

News outlets have been reporting for months that ISIS has planned a “cyber caliphate” against U.S. technology using encrypted software.

In September, the FBI warned of possible cyber attacks in retaliation for U.S. air strikes against ISIS.

NBC News reported the FBI released a bulletin to law enforcement and U.S. businesses that cited “recent nonspecific and probably aspirational threats made on social media platform to carry out cyber as well as physical attacks in response to the U.S. military presence in the Middle East.”

The FBI warned that such attacks could include “messages expressing support for ISIS and/or … imagery such as the black ISIS flag or graphic imagery, e.g. pictures or videos of ISIS executions.”

Some Islamic militants have boasted online that they will soon be capable of attacking America’s infrastructure or financial system, according to Fox News.

“The jihadists are investing a lot in encryption technologies, and they have developed their own software to protect their communications, and when Western agencies work out how to crack them, they adapt quickly,” Steve Stalinsky, executive director of the Middle East Media Research Institute, told Fox News in September. “They are forward-thinking and are experimenting with hacking. In the future, the jihadist cyber army’s activities will become a daily reality.”

A modern day Buddhist hermit, explains his Enlightenment & Subconscious access

Posted in Sprituality on December 15, 2014 by betweentwopines

By dominicus at ATS.

So I frequent a number of different Xtian Mystic, Buddhist, Taoist, and Sufi sites to just get a general consensus on what different philosophies deem “enlightenment” is. This specific Buddhist’s post is interesting to many people because many ATS’ers are interested in accessing Subconscious, which this fellow says is a sure shot way to access Enlightenment.

Also, I am largely in agreement with it, and I will quote some interesting points of his here:

I think we are all aware of the Conscious Mind:

THE CONSCIOUS MIND
THE CONSCIOUS MIND IS A SERIAL PROCESSOR (with only one image or thought at a time, in a lineal sequence). The conscious mind can process 40 bits (nerve impulses) per second… the conscious mind understands “words” and “logic”, it is very “rational”…

THE CONSCIOUS MIND IS THE MIND OF OUR PHYSICAL BODY AND ITS SENSES… “Consciousness” is usually defined as being aware of the physical senses… if a person cannot see, hear, smell, taste, or touch, they are said to be “unconscious”…

It’s the Subconscious that gets interesting:

THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND IS A PARALLEL PROCESSOR (with many images and thoughts arranged in many different complex patterns and structures simultaneously). The subconscious mind can process 40,000,000 bits (nerve impulses) per second, so it is 1,000,000 times more powerful, complex, bigger, or faster than the conscious mind… and can think hundreds or thousands of different thoughts simultaneously… the subconscious mind understands “visual images”, “emotions” and “feelings”; and is totally “irrational”… the subconscious mind controls our body… it keeps our heart beating, our lungs breathing, our stomach digesting our food, etc… it repairs and replaces the cells of our body… it creates our health or sickness… this is why the Buddha said that “every man is the author of his own sickness or health”… the subconscious mind is extremely powerful, but we seldom use more than a tiny fraction of its power, because we are unaware of it…

If you see someone that you know; your subconscious mind “recognizes them” (visual image), and your conscious mind “remembers their name” (word)… this is how they work together…

The conscious mind cannot cope with the simultaneous “multiple images and thoughts” in the subconscious mind, which is the reason why the subconscious mind is subconscious to the conscious mind. The conscious mind is simply unable to process and “be conscious” of the complexity of the “subconscious mind”

Similarly he states that accessing Subconscious, would make you think you’ve gone crazy. however he uses Mantra to anchor him through the whole circus act the subconscious does:

NOTE… If a “normal” mundane person were to unwittingly make their subconscious mind conscious, they would “think” (a logical lineal sequence of thoughts in their conscious mind) that they must be going “crazy”; because of the flood of conditioned multiple interacting reflex thoughts that would flood through their mind. Clinical insanity is when the subconscious mind of a mundane person becomes conscious, when he has tapped directly into his “spirit”, and neither the mundane person, nor the mundane world around him, understands what is happening… but this is also why some cultures consider “crazy people” to be “holy”, and why some “holy men” appear to be crazy… likewise a meditator who unwittingly makes his subconscious mind conscious, might “think” that meditating has made him crazy, and so be afraid to meditate any more… but if you recognize it as simply the natural state of the subconscious mind and are not afraid, it is no problem… it is fear of it that is the problem… if you ever fall into fear, simply start repeating “Buddho… Buddho… Buddho…” again and again until you feel safe… it will anchor you to something good, and protect you from fear…

Much more interesting points in the link and a HIGHLY Recommended link I really wish everyone would read. He also states that accessing the root of the Subconscious gives you free access to leave the body and enter the Spiritual realms at will.

Enlightenment is merely Realization. In realizing oneself as God incarnate and allowing full awareness, you can appear ‘crazy’ … the 3d ‘trick’ to enlightenment while still in body, is fearlessly being yourself, no matter what the world may deem you.

Greetings and Salutations- My Teacher had taught me the ‘conscious’ ‘sub-conscious’ and ‘other than conscious’.. It was during one of these many trips that I came about the “Eternity of the Soul” and I guess I’m a “hermit” now too?? My day is complete if the 4 dogs have been fed and hopefully walked and the dishes are done. Is this a ‘full day’ or ‘fool day’? My vessel is only 51 and I’ve been retired from the cop shop for 10 years now and don’t have any “wants” Some, I’d opine those who think this is it and might even be wearing a YOLO hoodie?

Be cautious but unafraid when You take that trip “inside” that is why “They” (The Establishment, TPTB, etc. et al..) try and keep folks distracted. They want You watching t.v. while on the computer while talking on the phone and be busy, busy, busy doing anything other than delving into what is YOU, the ‘other Me’…

I like being able to think about things in an array pattern nowadays. It took me a while to figure out how to use the power of the temporal lobe epilepsy properly. Before I ran on automatic, that ended. Now I have to try to connect manually and this gives me the ability to analyze what is happening.

So I like being a little abnormal. Dampening the TLE so that I can work with it is necessary though.

After much searching within the more esoteric teachings, I am settled right now with Eckhart Tolle.

I live in the moment, aware of my heart beat, breathing, thirst, hunger, all of who I am is in the now.

Awareness quiets the subconscious. It’s your subconscious and you can do anything you want with it. I chose not to let it dictate my life. Unfortunately most of the world are terribly unaware, and victims to their own subconscious.

I’ve come to the conclusion that enlightenment would be considered insanity by many. Being aware of things that “aren’t there”, understanding concepts that “are too outside the box to be real”, etc. Different perceptions, processing.

China confirms new hypersonic glide vehicle test-flight

China confirmed conducting a test flight of a new hypersonic missile delivery vehicle capable of delivering nuclear warheads with record breaking speeds. The move is purely scientific and not targeted at any country, said the Defense Ministry.

“Our planned scientific research tests conducted in our territory are normal,” said the Beijing Defense Ministry as cited by Reuters on Wednesday. “These tests are not targeted at any country and at any specific goals.”

The ministry’s statement confirmed a report by the Washington Free Beacon on Monday. The newspaper cited US Pentagon officials saying that a hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) was detected flying at ten times the speed of sound over China on January 9.

The officials added that the ultra-high speed missile vehicle is aimed at “delivering warheads through US missile defenses.”

The HGV dubbed the WU-14 was reportedly designed to be launched as the final stage of China’s intercontinental ballistic missile. Its hypersonic speed range reportedly lies between Mach 5 and Mach 10, or 3,840 to 7,680 miles per hour.

US Congress voiced concerns on Tuesday fearing the country is falling behind in the international hypersonic arms race.

“While round after round of defense cuts have knocked America’s technological advantage on its back, the Chinese and other competitor nations push towards military parity with the United States; in some cases, as in this one, they appear to be leaping ahead of us,” Chairman Rep. Howard P. “Buck“ McKeon (R., Calif.) and Reps. Randy Forbes (R., Va.) and Mike Rogers (R., Ala.) said in a statement as cited by Washington Free Beacon.

The newspaper also said the test made China the second country after the US to have successfully tested a hypersonic delivery vehicle able to carry nuclear warheads at a speed above Mach 10.

Hypersonic vehicles, designed by the US, Russia and India, are developed for precise targeting and rapid delivery of weapons. They are intended to counter hostile missile and space defenses.

Annual increases in China’s military spending have allowed Beijing to boost the quality and performance of domestic weapons and military hardware. According to Chinese technical reports from December 2012 and April 2013 the country is developing precision guidance systems designed to be directed via satellite.

Russia too has confirmed the development of “a new class of hypersonic vehicle” that would “allow Russian strategic missiles to penetrate missile defense systems,” according to the Air Force National Air and Space Intelligence Center.
